About half an hours drive north of Broome, and a short walk across some dunes, you can find the incredible Coconut Well. It is an outcrop of rock situated on the shore of Cable Beach. At high tide it hides under the surface of the ocean, completely submerged and out of sight. Once the tide recedes, the shoreline lies a considerable walk away and the beauty of this area is revealed.

The entire outcrop is covered in large jagged pinnacles and deep wells that maintain an aquatic habitat for the creates that become stranded in it. The beauty of the location, along with the dependence the marine life have on it for shelter begs the name “Natures last resort”.
