A commercial pine forest is a desolate place to begin with. But when a bushfire tears through it leaves behind a waste land.
The Waroona Bushfire was now 8 months ago, the pine trees haven’t started to grow again. The fire was so intense the entire forest was killed. Nothing is left behind but a endless repeating pattern of black trunks erupting from the ground.
The owners of the pine forest have taken to harvesting and clearing the square kilometres of plantation and preparing it for replanting. It is a slow and patient process of growing enough pine for satisfy our demand.
