Behind the bridge that leads to Garden Island is a wonderful sea side nature reserve called Point Peron. It includes the decaying remains of world war era gun turrets, much like what people travel to Rottnest Island to see. There are also underground bunkers that are accessible without restriction.
Beside the ruins, the beach side is absolutely stunning. A sheltered white sandy bay and rocky cliff faces make it a great place to either play, swim or fish.
